English II Movie Trailers

Round Rock High School Intelligent Classroom teacher, Lynda Summers, had her English II students make a movie trailer based on books. She loaded several of the videos up on her Moodle page allowing the students to vote on their favorites in certain categories. Her Moodle tool automatically calculates the winners for her!
A special thanks to Erin Balfour at McNeil who piloted this lesson last year.
Lynda says: Moodle is great. Everyone can do this.

         Bluebonnet 5th grade teacher, Vanessa deBecze, uses her whiteboard and student response devises to help teach simplest forms in math. Round Rock has 163 interactive classrooms in the elementary and middle schools.

Fern Bluff Greencast

The Fern Bluff Greencast is a student-produced podcast that has been funded through a service-learning project grant through Round Rock ISD. This initiative gives our students a unique opportunity to provide
community service abroad by educating listeners on environmental issues and providing tips on living green. Our podcast is available online at http://www.fernbluffgreencast.net and can be subscribed to through iTunes or your favorite RSS feeder.

Video help files for Alg1, AlgII, Geometry

Using Jing, a popular web 2.0 technology, and a tablet/slate, Heath Walz and Tom Collins of Stony Point High School created videos to support concepts in Algebra and Geometry. They created and shared over 100 videos which students access on the shared folders of all the high school campuses.
